Frequently Asked Questions

The main difference between interior and exterior acrylic emulsion paint is the resistance of the former to certain conditions. The exterior paints must be resistant to fading from sun exposure, to precipitation and humidity changes, and also to temperature changes, which makes them thicker. This interior acrylic emulsion paint, called Dura Smooth Interior Acrylic Emulsion, emphasizes ease of use, its coverage abilities and matt finish more appropriate for indoor light and wear compared to exterior paints. Also, it is created with lower levels of smell and VOCs due to being applied inside the house where people live. And generally the coverage is higher for interior acrylic emulsion because of the absence of need for thicker film due to the lack of necessity to protect from external factors. So using the opposite paint in the place of its usual use results in waste of money.

Indeed, emulsion paint is believed to be among the best choices when it comes to interior wall paint because it not only offers durability but also ensures that the finish will be smooth just like distemper without being difficult to use. Dura Smooth Interior Acrylic Emulsion is a type of acrylic emulsion paint that provides good hiding capabilities which help cover up stains or previous paint colors, as well as better coverage compared to conventional emulsion paints. The matt finish of this type of paint is appropriate for most interior places since it helps provide a clean look that does not reflect light. Another advantage of using this paint is that its working life is usually longer than that of distemper paint and it does not easily crack or fade with time.

An emulsion that has high hiding property and a matt finish may be considered to be effective for masking any small imperfections in the wall surface because the matt finish will diffuse the light rather than reflect it. The Dura Smooth Interior Acrylic Emulsion is known to have high coverage and ability to cover the stains and old colors with lesser number of coats as compared to poor quality paints. However, glossier finish will emphasize the defects under the angled light making such type of finish less effective if the wall is rough or contains patchwork. However, proper surface preparation is required even in case of such an emulsion because the defects like cracks should be filled and rough surfaces should be sanded before painting.

Matt finish paint has a flat, non-reflective surface that absorbs light rather than bouncing it back, giving walls a soft, even look without any real visible sheen to speak of. Dura Smooth Interior Acrylic Emulsion, a matte emulsion paint, uses this matt finish to good effect, pairing it with high coverage and good hiding power to conceal underlying stains or surface flaws more effectively than glossier alternatives manage. The main advantage of matt paint is how forgiving it is on uneven walls, since low reflectivity means minor bumps and patches are far less noticeable than under a glossy sheen. It also tends to feel more contemporary and calm in living spaces, which is part of why it stays a popular default for bedrooms and living rooms alike. The trade-off is generally lower washability than satin or gloss, though decent acrylic emulsions narrow that gap quite a bit.

Flat and matte paint are closely related, matte usually offering a slightly less flat, marginally more washable finish than pure flat paint, though the two terms get used more or less interchangeably in practice anyway. Checking wall paint coverage per litre matters here too, since the good hiding power and higher coverage Dura Smooth Interior Acrylic Emulsion offers mean fewer coats are typically needed to reach full, even colour across the wall. For rooms that see heavy traffic or need frequent cleaning, a slightly higher sheen like satin might hold up better long term, but for most bedrooms, living rooms, and ceilings, matt strikes a decent balance between softness and everyday practicality. That balance, hiding power plus coverage plus finish, tends to matter more for overall value than the upfront sheen preference most people start with when picking a paint.
